François Duhaime
Description
His research focuses on flow phenomena in porous media, complex fine soils such as Champlain clays, experimental soil mechanics, and numerical modeling (finite and discrete elements). He is particularly interested in the internal erosion of water retention structures, the effects of stabilization/solidification on the environmental and mechanical performance of contaminated soils, and the influence of green infrastructure on groundwater conditions. He also supervises innovative work on the interpretation of erosion tests, as well as particle size analysis assisted by artificial vision and machine learning. His work combines experimental rigor and advanced modeling, with strong potential for application to the engineering challenges posed by climate change and the sustainable management of soil and groundwater.
