Integration of sensor networks and 6G technology to improve weather forecasting

Graduate Student Scholarship - 2024

Description

This project revolutionizes weather forecasting by integrating advanced sensors with 6G communication networks. By combining climate detection and real-time transmission (Integrated Sensing and Communication – ISAC), this approach improves the accuracy, speed, and reliability of weather models.

Objectives

  1. Develop a network of smart sensors capable of measuring various climate parameters.
  2. Integrate these sensors into 6G infrastructures for real-time monitoring and low-latency transmission.
  3. Improve weather models using high-resolution data and testing under various climatic conditions.

A technological breakthrough for climate resilience

This project will enable better environmental monitoring and more accurate weather forecasting, with applications for agriculture, resource management, and early warning systems. By leveraging innovations in communications and sensors, it is fully aligned with the AdapT Institute’s mission to strengthen climate adaptation through technology.

Don’t just coexist with climate change.
