Janie Masse-Dufresne

Description

Her research interests focus on engineered aquifer recharge solutions, particularly bank filtration systems, as well as watershed-scale water resource management. Her multidisciplinary approach integrates various techniques, including geochemical and isotopic tracing methods. Her numerous collaborations with municipalities, government departments, and watershed management organizations have helped improve models describing the response of hydro-complex systems and develop monitoring and management strategies adapted to changing conditions, such as variations in water quality, droughts, and floods.

Passionate about raising awareness and education, she leads conferences and introductory workshops on hydrogeology, targeting both young people and decision-makers. Her goal is to empower the general public, inspire informed decisions, and promote positive change in communities. She emphasizes integrated and sustainable water resource management, raising awareness of its crucial importance in a context of growing environmental pressures.
