Marie-José Nollet

Description

Her research focuses on seismic engineering and earthquake risk reduction for buildings and infrastructure. Her work aims to better understand and quantify the vulnerability of structures to seismic hazards using numerical modeling, structural assessment, and probabilistic risk analysis. She is particularly interested in the seismic fragility of unreinforced masonry buildings and bridges, as well as the influence of geological and geotechnical conditions on potential damage. Her research also focuses on developing decision-support tools for seismic risk mitigation in residential buildings and critical infrastructure to support regional planning and resilience, including risks associated with wildfires in peri-urban areas. By combining advanced analytical models with spatial data, she contributes to improving the safety of masonry and wood structures, as well as critical infrastructure, in the face of seismic events.
