Richard Arsenault

Description

This professor specializes in hydrology and hydrological modeling applied to the impacts of climate change on water resources. His research focuses on flow forecasting, water resources management, ensemble hydrological forecasting, and improving hydrological models through data assimilation and artificial intelligence.

He is particularly interested in the effects of climate change on flooding, hydrological regimes, river temperatures, and snow-covered watersheds. His work aims to develop more accurate forecasting and decision-support tools to help infrastructure and regions adapt to extreme hydrometeorological events.

His research also covers ungauged watersheds, distributed hydrological models, neural networks, and large-scale hydroclimatic modeling platforms.
